In the ring, his goal was to win. Period. In what seems like a lifetime ago, local businessman Frank Valente was an All-American collegiate boxer at the Naval Academy, where he captained the boxing team.  He has many fond memories of this important time in his life, and the experiences have definitely shaped his character. Hearing him explain, "I never boxed for fun, I boxed to win," you get a clear picture of his tenacious drive and the competitive fire within him. He truley had the "heart of a champion." But sit and chat with this personable individual and you might find it hard to beleive that the warm, friendly person in front of you was such a fierce competitor in the ring, with an inner fire that drove him to excel.

A Desire to Succeed
The competitive fire not only drove him to excel in boxing, but in the classroom as well. After earning his high school valedictorian honors, Frank cut his teeth at the rigorous Naval Acadamey where he earned his degree in engineering. He later earned his masters degree in engineering, during his highly decorated career as a Naval Officer serving as a "Surface Warfare Officer" on a destroyer. "Getting my masters and serving as a leader abroad a destroyer during the Gulf War were major mile stones for me because it reinforced the belief that I can do anything I set my mind to !" he says.

And that is exactly how he feels about many of the other activities he gets to enjoy in South Placer County. Born and raised in Detroit, he has built a reputation for pushing the envelope, hes driven to excel. With a garage full of hot rods, motorcycles, boats, skies, snow shoes, and tennis rackets, Frank will tell you the sky is the limit when you approach life with exuberance and the right attitude.
